What's the difference between applying for a loan, getting pre-approved for a loan, and pre-qualifying for financing?
Applying for a loan and being pre-approved for a loan are roughly the same thing--we'll look over your submitted information and pull your credit report to give you the most accurate car loan value that you'd be approved for when you came in to buy. While this does show up on your credit history, applying for a loan online is the best plan for a driver who's serious about buying or leasing a car in the very near future.
If you're not ready to buy just yet, you're shopping around, or you're concerned about putting pressure on your credit score until you're absolutely certain, you may want to inquire about pre-qualifying for a loan; pre-qualifying is less invasive (we don't touch your credit history) but also less accurate. By going off of a basic snapshot of your credit profile, we can only give a general range of loan approval.
