Exterior Design
The 2027 Kia EV3 brings a distinct, boxy profile to the streets of Scottsdale, AZ, incorporating geometric lines and a compact electric SUV frame. Up front, it features vertical LED headlights paired with Kia’s signature Star Map daytime running lights and a refined "Tiger Face" digital grille motif. Standard models ride on 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, while higher trims offer 19-inch black-finished wheels that enhance its grounded stance. Flush-fitting door handles, deep tinting on the rear windows, and a subtle rear roof spoiler improve aerodynamics while managing exterior sunlight during hot desert drives. The charging access point incorporates a North American Charging System (NACS) port, allowing direct compatibility with public fast-charging networks.
Interior Comfort & Technology
Inside, the cabin prioritizes sustainable materials, offering seating trimmed in fabric or synthetic SynTex leather made from recycled elements. Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear floor heating ducts ensures temperature regulation across both seating rows. Available heated and ventilated front seats deliver added climate control comfort for local commuting.
The digital cockpit features nearly 30 inches of combined widescreen real estate, integrating a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate control panel, and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ come standard, complemented by multiple USB-C charging ports and an available wireless phone charger. Cargo versatility includes 26 cubic feet of space behind the second row, expanding to 56.5 cubic feet with the 60/40 split rear seats folded flat, along with a small front trunk (frunk) for minor storage items. An available 8-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system completes the interior equipment package.
Performance & Handling
The standard front-wheel-drive configuration utilizes a single electric motor generating 201 horsepower and 209 lb-ft of torque. Battery options consist of a standard 58.3-kWh unit or an available extended-range 81.4-kWh pack. For enhanced traction and output, an available dual-motor all-wheel-drive system increases performance up to 261 horsepower.
A single-speed automatic transmission handles power delivery, while driver-selectable drive modes adjust motor responsiveness for varying road surfaces. The EV3 includes an i-Pedal single-pedal driving system that allows drivers to accelerate, decelerate, and stop using only the accelerator pedal. Suspended by independent front MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear setup, the chassis delivers composed handling across urban streets and open highway corridors.
Safety Features & Driver Assistance
The Kia EV3 comes equipped with a wide selection of active safety technologies aimed at supporting driver awareness. Standard and available driver-assist features include:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist: Monitors for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists ahead, with functionality for junction turning and crossing scenarios.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist: Scans blind spots during lane changes and applies selective braking if an approaching vehicle is detected.
- Highway Driving Assist: Combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering technology to maintain speed and steering assistance during highway travel.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance: Alerts the driver to vehicles approaching from either side while reversing and can apply automatic emergency braking.
- Safe Exit Assist: Warns passengers exiting the vehicle if a bicycle or car is approaching from behind.
