Model Highlights
Exterior Design
The 2027 Kia Sportage Hybrid delivers a sharp visual presence across the roads of Scottsdale, AZ, pairing clean modern lines with aggressive crossover styling. Up front, distinctive boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights framework a dark geometric front grille and vertical headlight clusters. Standard models feature 17-inch alloy wheels, with available 18-inch and 19-inch dark-finished options enhancing the stance. Solar control glass comes standard on the windshield and front windows, helping filter intense desert sunlight to manage interior heat levels. Additional functional exterior amenities include integrated roof rails, heated body-colored side mirrors with built-in LED turn indicators, an available Smart Power Liftgate, and an optional panoramic sunroof.
Interior Comfort & Technology
Inside the cabin, the layout centers around a spacious two-row configuration with class-leading rear legroom and versatile cargo capacity. Cloth seating comes standard on entry trims, while available synthetic SynTex leather offers multi-stage heating and ventilation for the front seats. Dual-zone automatic climate control includes dedicated rear seat air vents to keep air distribution balanced across all seating positions during hot weather.
The dashboard interface features available dual 12.3-inch panoramic display screens that unite the digital gauge cluster with a central touchscreen. The infotainment hub supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, supported by front and rear USB-C charging ports and an available wireless smartphone charging pad. Rear 60/40 split-folding seatbacks fold flat to expand rear cargo volume to nearly 40 cubic feet, supplemented by an available Harman Kardon® premium audio system.
Performance & Handling
Powering the 2027 Sportage Hybrid is a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine coupled with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The combined hybrid setup produces 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, routing power through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Regenerative braking captures kinetic energy during deceleration to recharge the battery without requiring manual charging.
Front-wheel drive comes standard, while an available active all-wheel-drive system uses electro-hydraulic coupling to actively distribute power between the axles for improved stability on slick surfaces or gravel trails. Driver-selectable Drive Modes allow adjustments to throttle mapping and transmission shift timing. Independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup help absorb surface imperfections while maintaining body composure through turns.
Safety Features & Driver Assistance
A comprehensive collection of active safety systems monitors surroundings to assist with driver awareness on busy thoroughfares. Standard safety technologies on the Sportage Hybrid include:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist: Detects vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists ahead, with functionality for junction turning scenarios.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist: Scans blind zones during lane changes and provides selective braking intervention if needed.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist: Alerts the driver to vehicles approaching from either side while reversing and can apply automatic emergency braking.
- Lane Keeping Assist & Lane Following Assist: Monitors visible road markings and provides continuous steering support to keep the vehicle centered.
- Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go: Adjusts vehicle speed automatically to maintain a pre-set distance from preceding traffic.
- Park Distance Warning: Employs acoustic sensors on the front and rear bumpers to support parking maneuvers in tight spots.
